I have search the forum and no one has ask for this. Adding enhancements to the picture matrix such as a preview of the picture on the matrix and a way to size or locate the picture on the matrix. Also to add new functions to it such as bounce and spin from center point of the picture and to spin from corner of the picture.

Hi Krsound,
First do you use the picture matrix ? What size matrix panel are you using ?
For anyone who does not know. A picture image must match the number of pixels (or multiples of the number pixels) of the LED panel in the matrix editor. eg. a 10 x 10 pixel panel only excepts a 10 x 10 pixel image or a image which is multiples of width or height eg. 10 x 40 or 40 x 10. The information is in the QLC manual notes that explains this in more detail.
When you load a image that is the correct size you will see it displayed in the matrix editor preview window.
I can understand what you want to do. These FX would be great if you have a massive LED panel with a very large amount of pixels.
I so far due to my limited budget have only built a 10 x 34 pixel screen ( 2 x universe ).
This size of screen is not large enough to use standard clip art or small images on it, with out resizing them first.
How ever using a basic paint package to shrink 16 x 16 pixels images, like the images from old computer games, they can be used and animated. I have a nice Pac man animation done this way. For my panel the image files are 10 x 136 pixels.
Animated Gif files would be great on these panels but QLC at this time can not resize or play them yet.
The best thing for QLC would be the ability to resize image files automatically to fit the matrix panel size that the image is loaded to.
The ability to load an oversized image to the panel but only see the section that matched the panels pixel size would also be cool. If it was possible to move that image around to view different areas of it, it could be a cool effect in it's self.
It's a way to display a higher quality image on a low res small panel.
What do you think ?
