Hi Mihai,

In the Robe fixture, the manual is slightly different from your definition:

Your definition:

Channel: Control
190-199: Iris reset

User manual:

Channel: Power/Special Functions
190-199: reserved

Which is true?

Thanks

Hi again,

I found this for the Proel PLML150 fixture:

http://www.strumentimusicali.net/produc ... ml150.html

It has similar functions to your definition but is completely different in the details. Which one is correct?

I've changed the gobo references so they are relative paths and submitted the fixture

to use this now put the 5 gobo image files in the QLC+/Gobos/Robe directory.

Hi,
I have tried but failed to create fixture on both win7 and win8
Read tutorial and watch videos but still fail.
On the fixture screen the first tab on left is for creating new fixture, i click and nothing appeares.

Reason why i need to create is that none of the pre defined fixture match my lights.

any help will be highly appreciated,

First off, you should have open a new thread in the Fixtures request Forum.

These are the steps I did when I made my very first fixture:

1. Launch the QLC+ Fixture Editor if on Gnu/Linux or Fixture Definition Editor if on Windows.
Then you will be presented with a Fixture Editor Definition.
2. Click on the top left icon. (The one with the tiny + sign.
You will now see 3 tabs.
3. Fill in the General tab. ( From here on your fixture documentation is required)
This tab is self explanatory.
4. Go to the Channels tab and click on the big PLUS button on the right.
Name your channel, select group type. You would think that it is mostly for moving head and RGB lights
oriented. If you have different fixture like a laser or something you could just select the Effect group.

Control Byte: most of the time if not all the time you will be using Coarse. (MostSignificantByte/Bits?)
Again you documentation will tell you what you need.
Start adding the capability of you channel. You can add colours or picture to your channel capability.
Not necessary but it helps a lot when you are picking it on the slider later. Make sure you put an description that match though.
Add channels as you need, some fixtures has different modes, just add them as separate channels.
Note the order you create channels is not important, but it is when you go to Modes tab.
5. Modes tab: once you click the big PLUS icon, you will be in Mode edit. The most important tab here
is the Channels ( if your fixture only uses single **head). Name your mode. The name you put here should
reflect the actual capability of your channels if you are using a certain mode.
*Channels Tab: with plus icon again you will be presented with Fixture Mode Channels Editor.
The channels you made previously will be listed on the left pane. You select the channels you need from
the left and move it to the right pane. Here the order of the channel is a must.
You can add as many modes as you want that is within the capabilities of you fixture. But if you
think you will no be using any other modes of your fixture your can stop with just one mode.

6. Save your fixture. (in Gnu/Linux you should save it in a fixture directory in your /home/youruser/.qlcplus/fixtures.
In windows it should be in C:\Users\youruser\QLC+\Fixtures. And you are done. Your fixture should appear in the fixture selection when you launch the QLight Controller Plus.
I hope this helps.

**I'm partial about the head thing as I've only made one fixture for a moving head only.

Thank you so much Rommel.
I apologize for not placing a new thread.
I figured out that my fixture creator was in QLC+ folder created during installation.

Upon opening this i found the fixture creator and was able to create five fixtures all of Chinese make.

Now that i have created fixtures, i have configured to use Numark Mixtrack Pro2 to MIDI control.

My thanks too. I am a newbie to QCL+ so I watched the tutorial video but I did not realize that the fixture editor was a separate software application that must be launched independently of QCL+. I'm off to create my first fixture!
