Hi folks. I have a bunch of EFX set up for some of my moving head lights. At different events I am different distances from the dance floor so I figured I could set up an X-Y Axis widget on my virtual console and use it to re-aim the lights to the proper distance and direction at each event.

I might just be missing something but it appears that the XY Axis widget doesn't have any affect on the built in EFX that I created.

So what's a fast easy way to redirect lighting to adjust for the proper distance and aim every week? I am doing about 8-10 weddings a month and can't spend too much time doing this function since time is limited right before an event.

Thanks,
Rob

Does the limits on the top and left side of XY widget by chance allow you you to set the peramiter you need?

Example: set scenes up to work with dance floor directly infont of you. Then when dance floor is farther away use limits on XY widget to limit the amount of movement your heads move.

Another options would maybe be to duplicate project for each venue/ setup and set DMX min/ max values in widget propertys

EBDS: I've written about it for you already :) http://qlcplus.org/forum/viewtopic.php? ... efx#p36571
I guess it lost somewhere in the avalanche of new information...

In short, create some of your "standard positions" (dancefloor/ceiling/left wall, right wall, etc.) and then make EFX rotate around them.
Either you start them independently (as one button set for positions and one button set for EFXs) or make them a collection (dancefloor + large circle).
That way, when you update dancefloor position, the EFX will be in the proper place.

This may help. Near the bottom under relative mode and tips and tricks (explains using XY pad with relative EFX)

[Edit]whoops I just noticed Jano pointed this doc out.

EBDS, perhaps a qxw workspace - posted here - would be fine, too
in short: Relative Mode -> base on actual Pan/Tilt

Edit: still on
re-installed 4.8.5
we are on 4.9.1, my friend...

PS: future prospects - I wish to see EFX playing in the VC X/Y Pad, also adjustable & "live" quicker...
