Hi Everyone,
I'm working with a small theater and trying to use QLC+ to make our lighting easier.
I have defined a single fixture with 12 dimmers since we have a single 12 channel dimmer pack.
I created various scenes, added them to a chaser and added the chaser to a Cue list on the virtual console.
The chaser has infinite holds, so we can manually step between them based on live cues.
Mostly this works great.

I have once case where I want to turn on channel 3, and then at a later time fade up channel 4 while 3 stays at the previous setting.
Since previous scenes are turned off when I advance in the cue list, I don't know how to do this. Any suggestions?

One other thing that would be great for our application is to be able to put audio/video functions into a chaser, but have them not affect the DMX output when queued.
Right now I either have to create a collect of the light scene + audio function, or create a separate chaser/cue list for audio. A single cue list would make it easier to run our show live.

Thanks for the great application, I hope someone can point out a solution that I missed.

For adding the fade-in of one light while holding the others, there are two options that we've used:
1) Create a new scene that has both lights and a fade-in/out times. This will allow you to add this scene to your Chase/CueList as follows:
Step 1 - Ch3 Only Scene
Step 2 - Ch3 + Ch4 Scene - Fade in: 2sec - Fade out: 2sec
Step 3 - Ch3 Only Scene

2) Alternately, if you only do this occasionally, just tie your "Ch4 Only Scene" to a manual fader and fade it up manually whenever you need it (in parallel with the current cue list).

I'm not sure that I fully understand your idea about audio/video cues in the cue list that don't affect the DMX output...are you saying just as a placeholder? Could you use a Collection for this?

I think I follow you, in step 2 you mean to create a collection with those 2 scenes, right?

I'm trying to keep our production as simple as possible for the tech operator. With that in mind, I'd like to have a single cue list that mixes sound and light cues.
As it currently works, when you move from a light cue to a sound cue, the lights go out.
I realize I could create a collection with the light and the sound, but it would be simpler if sound functions just left the dmx light state alone.
Having 2 cue lists (one for audio, one for lights) is more flexible, so maybe I'll get used to it. Our productions tend to be simple enough that we don't need the extra complexity.

Yes, either a collection with both scenes, or a new scene that combines both fixture settings...it adds some complexity in the show design/setup, but would greatly simplify your show operation.

If you really have two cue lists, I wouldn't expect one to interfere with the other (assuming separate channels). So, the other item to check is to ensure that the sound cues don't have any light instruments selected.
