I have successfully installed QLC on my PC, but i want to install it on a laptop running Ubuntu. I seem to be going round in circles as each time i try to install OLA is says Bison is missing. I try to install Bison and says it needs GNU 1.4.17. I have read your instruction on github and i am still none the wiser. I have only come to Linux recently so if you have an 'idiots' guide i would welcome it. P.S great bit of software for pc though.

This is a OLA related question, so you should post it in the OLA forums.
In any case you can disable the OLA plugin, as explicitely said in the build howto

Hi,

- Which version of Ubuntu ?

- Are you trying to compile QLC+ from sources, or simply installing the package ? Can you link to the instructions you're using ?

OK thanks.

As Massimo said, you can disable the OLA plugin if you don't need it.

If you're just trying to install QLC+, why bother trying to build everyhing ?

A linux package exists:

(unless you're trying to learn C++ :p )

Last piece of the puzzle please! I have it all working a treat. I have an Akai LPK25 usb midi keyboard which is shown in the input/output plugin list when i connect it, but when i try to auto detect it to try and control a widget, it is not working. Works on my PC with windows. Any suggestions?

Did you check the input checkbox corresponding to your usb keyboard before using the auto-detect feature ?

If you want your keyboards buttons to be lit up, yes, but it's not mandatory for midi control.

I'm sorry I can't help you more :(
