Hi folks. I currently have two Chauvet Intimidator Scan LED 300 lights. In my show I have two sliders for each for controlling Pan and Tilt. What I am observing is the following: I move let's say the Pan slider and the light starts moving. When it gets to where I want it to stop I let go of the slider. But the light keeps moving briefly and ends up where I didn't want it. This is true for the Pan and Tilt for both lights. I spoke with Chauvet and they said the issue has to be in the software I am using.
I am hoping there is some easy software fix to this anomaly. I am just starting to use fixtures that have Pan and Tilt and would like to know that I can accurately control the placement of the light using Qlc+.
Any help with this?
Thanks everyone.

No they don't jump. When I stop moving the slider the DMX values stop moving. Does that mean it's the fixture doing it?plugz wrote:On the Simple Desk ?What I am observing is the following: I move let's say the Pan slider and the light starts moving.
Can you try monitoring the values on the Fixture Monitor to see if the values jump ?

Is it possible that the fixture is not able to keep up the speed with the fader? I.e. the fader and DMX rises too fast, so that it takes the fixture longer time.
Does it keep moving when you move the fader slower? Does the DMX value correspond to the angle that the fixture stays in? (Pan range is 180 degrees, i.e. 0 - mirror is 90 deg. to the left, 127 - mirror is pointing frontally,
255 - mirror is 90 deg to the right, tilt similarly, but the range is 90 degrees - between DMX values 0 and 255 the mirror should move 90 degrees vertically).
If you set channel 10 to 56 (Fast movement) does it change anything?

Moving the slider really slowly does not change it's behavior. Neither does setting Channel 10 to '56'. I am beginning to think I should just get rid of them and get some different, smaller, moving heads with gobos. The features of these fixtures are really nice though, especially the dmx controlled focus.janosvitok wrote:Is it possible that the fixture is not able to keep up the speed with the fader? Thanks folks for trying to help me with this. I actually decided last night that I am going to sell the scanners. They are a little too large for me for what they provide. So I am going to let this issue drop for now. I already have bids on ebay for the lights so they're really going . I will be replacing the lights with two Chauvet Intimidator Spot LED 150's. So I will have those and 4 ADJ Inno Pocket Wash lights that I haven't put into service yet. So my focus now has to be learning how to program moving head fixtures using QLC+.
Thanks again everyone.
