I hoping I'm just missing something... I am currently running a show with 22 GLP Impression 120 RZ Moving head LED Pars and 4 Vari-Lite VL2500 Moving Head Spots. I created both profiles (I've created many profiles in the past for various lighting boards and for QLC+) I didn't do anything different and I followed the manuals DMX values. The show is an Ice show so the lights are positioned over the skating rink.
Anyway, when I move the Impression LED lights via the XY Pad it's great, I can practically pin point their position. With the VL2500 however, I move the point on the XY Pad a few pixels and the light moves WAY to far not nearly with the persition of the LEDs. I can't control it enough to place the beam where I want. Due to one reason or another I've very behind and this is just making things worse. The show opens tomorrow night and I was hoping to add these lights in to my scenes tonight during the dress rehearsal, but with such little control I can't use them at the moment. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Erratic Moving Head Lights with XY Pad

Hi,
can you post here your definitions (ideally both)? I'll check them.
In XY Pad you can use also keyboard arrows. Each keypress moves you one point in the coarse channel.
If you press Shift, one press moves you one point in the fine channel.
If you press CTRL one press moves 10 points.
You can combine both Shift and Ctrl and it will give you 10 fine points.
BTW. Would you mind if we add your fixture definitions to the QLC+?

Added the Workspace and VL2500 Spot profile to my post... Oh that's the other thing, the keyboard isn't working for moving the light either, the 'blue dot' moves but the light doesn't... very weird. Oh I'm using QLC+ 4.8.4. As for adding the provfile, go for it... I've been meaing to post it just haven't had time latley... I'll post the others as soon as my show is over.
Thanks
Thanks

You had wrong channel order:
Hi = Coarse (MSB = Most significant byte)
Lo = Fine (LSB = Least significant byte)
I swapped channels 2 and 3, 4 and 5. Also, Control channel is channel 22 according to docs.
I used this manual: http://www.vari-lite.com/clientuploads/ ... User_A.pdf

That was the issue, I can't believe I screwed up the order of those two channels... Anyway, we're three shows in with the final one this afternoon and everything is working perfectly.
Thanks janosvitok for the quick response.

I'm glad that was so easy I say it's better when it's stupid mistake than when it's not and it takes long time to find the cause...
