Hello, I'm new QLC+ user and so far I find it very user friendly and easy to work on..
However, there are few features that I think they would improve software if they could be implemented:
1. As few forum users already requested, a flash button that would temporarily override some function and after release would return to that function.. For example: we have our shutter set to open and then we press flash button that activates strobe. After releasing flash button, strobe deactivates and our shutter returns to open..
2. Paging system for faders in VC. For example lets say we have BCF2000 assigned to fader matrix with 8 faders.. It would be very useful if we could have some kind of paging system for faders with feedback to BCF2000. For example: lets say we have 8 faders and 4 pages... On page 1, we have 3 faders activated, on page 2 we have 6 faders activated, etc... By pressing 'next' page, motorized faders would set themselves in position that matches page 2 without affecting fader levels on page 1.. That way we could have control over many more faders with simple unit as BCF2000.
3. Some kind of chase generator that would automatically generate chase steps for PARs, movers, etc.
4. Moving head pan/tilt fanning. Maybe also some kind of function generator that would generate function with fanned positions for large number of moving heads...
5. Automatic coffe maker, because light programming can be time consuming
Anyway... I would be very grateful if some of listed features (1. to 4. of course ) could be implemented.
Thank you in advance for consideration
Few ideas for software improvement
Hi Goran, so far #2 is ready for the next version.
- 3 is supposed to be the Function Wizard, but I still need to dedicate some love to it.
- 1 and 4 I have to think about them
- 5 I'm adding support for a USB cigarettes maker, Next will be coffee one
Cheers

Just tried it.. Actually it works! Thanks!
All I have to do is set hold time to infinte..
One more thing... EFX seem to override level setting.. For example, I have set my movers intensities on fader and when I activate EFX, they all stay on, even if I put the fader all the way down... Is it some kind of bug, or?

I've tried again on another project file running EFX's on movers with dimmer on fader and again the EFX seems to override fader setting... Is it supposed to work that way or?
BTW, now for some time I've been practising using QLC+ with Capture Polar and I think I'm ready for using it live... As soon as I get chance to ride the lighting on a concert, I'll post some videos..
However, another idea crossed my mind...
I'm using BCF2000 with Launchpad S and I have my show setup something like this (the attachment)..
To completely change a scene I need to press several buttons at once.. It would be cool if there could be some kind of "select" button so when we press that button we could select several different scenes at once without activating them until we press some kind of "run" button... This is just an idea, not a request

Level is more or less feature... when you start EFX, QLC+ sets the intensity to full.
I suppose the reason behind this is so you can assign it to a VC fader. Wwhen you start to move the fader, the EFX is started and the intensity gradually goes up as you move the fader.
When you assign the EFX to a button, it doesn't come out as nice as with the fader.
I have come across this as well, and I also find it inconvenient - I want to control intensity separately. In my efx changes (not ready to publish, see https://github.com/janosvitok/qlcplus/tree/efx-faders), I removed this feature, and allowed to explicitly assign the intensity to the VC fader if needed.
If there is a consensus that we want to do it, I can remove the intensity from the EFX. I guess we have 2 votes for it already (you and me)

EFX and Intensity:
I've found a solution: go to EFX Editor, General page, set Intensity for all fixtures to 0. Now when you start the EFX, the intensity will be 0 and you can raise it by other means (since it's HTP).
I guess I just avoided some programming
