hi, and thanks for the nice piece of software !

this is a match in my search for a multiplatform light dmx controlleur!

I'm interested in a artnet interface, and before buying one, did some tests to see how it works in input or output, and here's the issue:

When using the artnet input, the faders in the virtual console assigned to artnet sliders never come back to "0", but keep the last value received before the "0".
if you were going slowly you end at "1", but if the artnet controller was fast it can be much higher.

the setup was simple: 2 pc, and one qlc+ on each, one using the artnet output, the other the artnet input.

wireshark show me the correct values, and running a ola_dmxmonitor give the correct value when the sender is "0".

Both OS are debian sid if that matter, and i tryed the git version for the receiver QLC+, wich exibit the same behaviour.

tell me if it's better to post this in the git bug.

Hi, thanks for reporting this. I think I've seen it too a while ago.

I'll open a ticket myself.

Sorry for the troule but I can't be able to connect two pcs with QLC+ as you have done: I set fixed ip on each pc (192.168.3.2 and 192.168.3.3) and linked computer with an ethernet switch, then I set one QLC+ with artnet input and other with artnet output but nothing happens :'(
How do you do that???

Thank you!

I've put some sceens and the artnet input file i use here:

on the sending qlcplus, you just need to choose the artnet output

on the receiving, first you put the "artnet-input.qxi" file in the .qlcplus/inputprofiles folder (this is on linux, you are alone for the other OS places :), )
then you take the artnet input, and use this profile.
last is to set up some sliders in VC, tuned to the artnet input channel.

and voila!

if that don't works, it's time to use wireshark to see if you are receiving the broadcasted frames !

for the developpers, feel free to take the input profile if the naming make sens.

As a feedback/idea about artnet, i'd like to have an option to have unicast artnet output instead of broadcast, to limit the network load.
