Hello,
What a wonderful surprise to find this software after much so much research ! (via this link: http://www.boutique-electroconcept.com/ ... oints.html)
I explain my case . I am a director and actor in a professional theater , but with a small budget We create a new show where I play a character but I control technology at the same time . We have many different devices to manage ( servomotors , LEDs, fans, motors, various effects that we manage fully DMX) , all must be synchronized with a soundtrack.
I searched a long time Mac software to control the set. I bought Sweetlight to the timeline, but the software is horrible to control. (not even scrolling unlike you ) I regret my purchase . In the meantime, I'll use it , but I'd make sure my back .
What a surprise to come across your resume QLC ! I tried your software is incomparably better, but I notice the absence so far of a function for the markers on the timeline as pause, or stop . (This is the only advantage of Sweetlight ! ) Do you implement these functions in the future? It is an indispensable need to manage our course of the show.
In any case , congratulations for the intuitiveness of the software, the beautiful timeline, and overall very nice . I hope to go to your software as soon as possible !
Many thanks, and sorry for my bad english...
Regards

Hello Masson, I understand your story. The same happened to me with LumiDMX. 200€ flushed in the toilet.
I'm wondering. What is the need of time markers ? Can't you just split your show into several shows in QLC+ and start them via MIDI-controlled buttons or something ?

Also, and I don't like too much to say this, even though your budget is limited (mine is equal to zero...), you are welcome to consider a donation if you use this software for professional use. Thanks.
Obviously ! I have always supported open source projects when I use it, I am aware of the enormous time required for programming and personal investment ! And I 'm not stingy I was talking about the budget, not so much for me, but I think it is a shame to sell software + interface and does not evolve further. And height of the roof, I have random errors DMX frames by the interface. The first performance will be in December...
To explain, the stage (decoration) is small, and the mac computer is integrated into it. I have to minimize all devices. And fewer devices, less chance of bugs during the show . And since I play at the same time, I would run a single button. Time markers allow me to pause the timeline automatically, while keeping the light state, and then restart smoothly to continue the show without blackout. We need these breaks to manage our timing game. I find it very convenient.
Thank you for your reply, I have not researched in detail the software, but I will consider your proposed solution. I'll watch it exactly. If everything works as simply as possible ,it will be wonderful !
Count on my support, thank you for your time.

Hello! I continued to experiment QLC + but I have many problems to use. I tested with a single LED PAR with a few steps in the Showmanager and transition on a single track. Sometimes reading is not activated, sometimes infinity mode works or not (the chaser often unexpected or strange behavior), and above all, the processor is already at 60%. I think the software is optimized for linux and not ready for mac? Can you confirm this? Because I think not being able to use it for now unfortunately
Hello, first thank you and congratulations for the update, this is wonderful news to have audio fades! So great for a show !!!
We thought using the QLC + version 4.5.1 in our show in December, but we had a problem which also repeat in version 4.6.0.
It is possible to integrate an audio file in a widget in the virtual console. But is it allowed? I assign a shortcut associated or not with a light scene. When the sound ends and the button is released automatically, the software crash or freeze.
I tried with different files and formats, with or without external audio interface, the same problem constantly reproduced.
I attach the log file when the software crash.
Thank you for your interest

Yet another discouraging note for not maintaining the OSX version anymore.
Please do not paste such long logs here. There are attachments for them. Thanks.

The bug is confirmed. I just tried to fix it...with no success.
The same code is used on Linux and Windows with no issues.
Weird thing is that if you manually start/stop audio on OSX it works. Automatically it doesn't.
I'll open a ticket for myself to remind me of this. Unfortunately it's very hard for me to debug on that developer-unfriendly platform that OSX is...
Sorry.

Sorry.
Our mac is used because our workflow is simplified between logic X and the rest for our team. But as our show and technology are integrated, perhaps it is worth considering a Rasberry Pi for the show in the future, but i need time... It is very frustrating for us not to use QLC +, which is so powerful and promising.
Can't you just use a Linux machine as a temporary solution for your show ?
The only risk you run is that once you try Linux you won't go back to OSX anymore
One workaround. Have you tried to use Cue Lists instead of buttons ?
Just place your audio track into a Chaser and assign it to a cue list.

In fact, I wanted to try ubuntu, it would be the occasion. Thank you for the advice, I'll have a little time, I'll test it all. The solution which I thought also is to extend each audio file with a long silence. But much to take.
