Massimo,
I've tested the new version and so far this is what I'm getting: still no luck on driving Modul8 with QLC+. I'm seeing more or less the same behavior that I was under the previous version however I do have some additional information.
As you have the ability to receive Art-net in QLC+ I thought I would give it a try and see what happens if I send some DMX from Modul8 (over Art-Net of course) to QLC. Much to my surprise, it works! So, in other words, I'm able to send DMX like this:
Modul8 ----> QLC+
but not
QLC+ ----> Modul8
which is quite strange indeed. One other thing, QLC+ does NOT like it when Modul8 is sending data and the Art-Net output line is enabled in QLC+. It causes a crash every time (can't even launch the program, in fact).
So, still no love, but perhaps this will be helpful in tracking down whatever the issue might be!
QLC+ and Modul8
Hi George, I just fixed the crash when QLC+ ArtNet plugin is in output mode and receive DMX data. Thanks for spotting this.
Last night I tried to install Modul8 2.7 but it asks me a serial number, which I don't have... (although you might contact me privately to help with this)
Do they have a 30 days trial that I can take advantage of ?
Regarding QLC+-->Modul8 not working it sounds very weird. First of all because I tested it with OLA and a DMXKing device. Secondly because ArtNet is a standard and the Modul8 guys should follow it as I did.
If you want to drag me in the discussion with them I'm happy to assist and solve this.

Massimo,
Darn, I was afraid of that on the licensing front. I couldn't remember if it had a built in trial version or not. I'd lend you a serial for a bit, but unfortunately I don't have any free ones (despite owning a couple of copies of the program). Also, like I said the version I sent you is a beta so I doubt there's a trial version of it to be had. However, I wouldn't be surprised if Boris from GarageCUBE could sort this out if you were to drop him a line as he's proven to be a very accommodating guy. FYI, I've been discussing this with them here:
http://forum.garagecube.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=8598
and directly with Boris via email.
Also, another update for you. The Modul8 guys had me test Art-Net using this little iLedMapper program on my iPhone (it receives DMX and lights up little pixels on the screen) and I can get it to work with Modul8 (sending DMX) but not with QLC+. So, I'm starting to think that perhaps it's not specific to Modul8. Perhaps it's something that's Mac specific?
In any case, if there's anything that I can do to help, please let me know. I really appreciate your time and I'm more than happy to do anything I can to assist.

George, here's some more considerations:
- Wireshark is your friend here: http://www.wireshark.org/
You should trace the network packets between iLedMapper and Modul8. Then send me an email with the .pcap file.
- Have you tried if QLC+ + OLA (or just OLA) work with Modul8 via ArtNet?
- Do you see Modul8 listed in the QLC+ nodes tree ? (you should see it in the ArtNet configuration dialog)
I am starting to think that Modul8 listens to an address like 10.255.255.255 which is not correct if your network mask is 255.255.255.0.
QLC+ relies on the broadcast address calculation of Qt which is fine on Linux and Windows (afaik)

Massimo,
I will give you a wireshark capture shortly as soon as I can.
I have not tried OLA with Modul8 but I may also give that a shot.
Regarding the Nodes tree, here is what I'm seeing: If I fire up QLC+ and go in and look at the Nodes tree, it will be there the first time I look. However, if I close that dialog and reopen it, it's gone. The same thing happens with iLedMapper. It's as if something under the hood is crashing. Maybe this will be helpful to you.

Hello Massimo and George,
I am the developer of Modul8. I am trying to reproduce the problem. I don't understand which ArtNet subnet/universe QLC+ is using ?
Could you join on irc ? irc.freenode.net so we could talk ? or Skype ?
Regards.
David

I'm very close to abandon the OSX support for QLC+.
What works on Linux and Windows doesn't work properly on OSX.
It's already a miracle what I've been able to do so far.
I don't have a real MAC and I don't have a proper way to test QLC+ on OSX.
So, unless some of you OSX guys find a developer that can help me on MAC related tasks, I'm afraid my skills are not enough to continue this development.
Sorry.

Oh man, I really hope that this doesn't happen I'd be more than happy to help, but I'm not sure that my limited PHP knowledge or my FileMaker Pro experience would do much for this particular project...
