Dear Massimo and rest of the team,
I am making some tests for our new show and I'm using some Ogg Vorbis audio files. Well, the program freezes quite often while working. After a few seconds halted it resumes again, but then freezes again and resumes once more and so on...

I decided to change the audio format of my files to MP3 and everything goes silky smooth now!!

I don't have any problem in changing the audio format of my files but I thought about leaving here a note to let the development team know.

I'm using the latest Linux stable QLC+ version (4.8.4) under Ubuntu 14.10 and Qt5.

And my Ogg files are recorded using the Vorbis codec in Stereo, 44100 Hz, 128 Kbps.

I hope to be useful.
Thanks in advance.

Hi, QLC+ 4.8.4 + Qt5 means you have built it yourself. Right ?
Which Qt5 version are you using ?

Can you share one of those audio files and in case a very simple test project to reproduce the issue ?

Thanks
Santiago Benejam Torres

Hi, in my last theater show I used a mix of ogg and mp3 files without problems. Only an issue if you assign a different audio output device to a track and start play more than one track at a time QLC+ freezes. If you leave selected the default audio output device on each audio track QLC+ works and its possible play more than one audio track at a time.

In my Ubuntu 14.04 the pulseaudio is the default sound system. It's seems that if a track take control of audio device, pulseaudio goes crazy trying to get control of audio devices and QLC+ hangs or freezes and stop responding to keyboard, mouse or external midi controller.

Hi Santiago. Qt4 or Qt5 ? If Qt5, which version ?
Santiago Benejam Torres

4.8.3 or 4.8.4 Qt4 version is that used on last show QLC+ .deb package from download page. I tried now with 4.8.5 from GIT Qt5 and it seems to work well no hangs or freezes. Qt5 version is 5.4 from Qt.

No, I did not build the packages myself, they are downloaded 64 bit Debian packages from repositories or from the web.

Qt5 version is 5.3.0

I made some new tests... Reproducing the thing is simple: I just open QLC+, add this Ogg file attached (simple 1 minute clock noises) and when I press the preview button a couple of times it freezes.

I guess Santiago is right and it has something to do with the audio device selection but I never changed it from the default device and it works perfect with MP3 files.

Thanks for the support and the feedback.
Alex
