Hello everyone, and especially to Massimo, and thank you for all your work.
This my first topic, although I'm reading quite often the forum. I live in France, I'm a (pro) musician, but new to the light world. This software has allowed me to understand a lot of things, as well as practicing, and being in charge of some show recently.
Here are some ideas ; I've tried to separate the ideas that I thought would be a great features for everyone, and the others that would pleased ME and MY work.

1-name of fixture (more than 10) are (for example) : LED#1, LED#2.. LED #10. So when you select the fixture, to create a new scene, you have, in order, LED#1, LED#10, LED#2. Could it be possible ta add a zero before the number 1 to 9 automatically, so they would be in a alphabetical, and logical order? For the moment I always rename the first fixtures.
2-Could it be possible to sort out the channels, in the profile menu ; To be able to sort it by name, channel number, or type (for the Touch OSC profile, we would have the channel sort by page for example -> a lot easier!)
3- In the virtual console, it could be great to be able to move several widget at a time.
4- In the functions, I may be stupid but the blind mode button is not intuitive to me ; could there be a crossed eye when you're in blind mode, and just an eye when you're not?
5- XY pad. I find it very useful. But I can't manage to fill the percent in X and Y axis, this is a lot easier in the XY pad, with the green selection. The drawback is that you lose some precision. An idea could be to make your XY selection, and then to have a "copy restriction to percent", or resize button, to paste the actual value to the percent value. Don't know if you understand, if not I'll try to be more explicit.

6- I've try the grandMA on PC, I don't want to compare, but 2 features save me a lot of time : the first one is to be able to select several fixtures and control them instantly, without pre-programming channel groups ; It may could be done with the help of the 2D view. The second one is the align fonction, which allow you to easily set position for moving heads, or even dim or color (check out https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OgVlZRXwsSQ).

Now some issues :
1- I haven't be able to change fade in, or any other time for a cue step in live edit mode. Did I miss something or is this normal?
2- In the virtual console, the changing of the attribute in a xy pad make the fixture not responding, I have to stop and re-play the console to move my fixture. For example an XY pad control my two first moving heads. Finally I want it to control the third and fourth MH, they don't respond. I press stop and play, and it's all good.

Hope that all this point can be understand (sorry for being french...).
And really thank you for all, I wish I could code to help you... I think it take me some years to learn it.

French must not be ashamed. Here is an interesting request list. I too love this program that I love even if it lacks features for the positions of the projectors. I think that we should not compare GrandMA or another console.

Hi,

1- Done in git

2- I don't know, maybe if it's easy to do.

3- This is less easy to do :) For now you can select several widgets, and cut-and-paste them.

4- I don't know about this.

5- I did not fully understand this...

6- This is a nice feature but also a lot of work :/

Looking at your 2 issues...

EDIT - I either don't reproduce your issues or did not understand them.
Jano Svitok

4 is easy to do
5 please explain again. I didn't understand.
Do you mean that you do not want to set the restriction by entering numbers, but rather to make selection and then set the limits to the selected area?

Issue 1+2: please give us: QLC+ version, operating system + version, overall setup description (DMX output device, fixture model,...) qxw file to reproduce, and step by step process to reproduce the problem.

EDIT: GRRR, I really hate this forum software... it changed my numbers to wrong ones...

(1. is done ;) )

I meant 4 and 5 but this forum software was smarter than me (or at least it thought so)... I've edited the post.

Yeh, markdown syntax is stupid. Happened to me as well.

2) is just a property of the TreeViewWidget. Right now all columns don't allow sorting. Should be easy to do

6) is in progress elsewhere ;)

Thank you all.
concerning the issue:
QLC+ 4.8.4, macbook pro 13 retina 2014, osx yosemite (I have to test this on my linux laptop, xubuntu), controlling 12 Robe LEDWash 600 in mode 3.
Here is the file, and here is the 2 problems :
1) My first XY pad on the VC controls Robe 1 & 2. If I change something using the "virtual console live edit" button, the XY pad doesn't send dmx value anymore (controlling with the monitor, but I've tested it in situation). I've tried this changing fixture 1&2 for fixtures 3&4 for example, and also checking the "invert" in the X axis of the first moving head.

2)concerning the Chaser, still with the "VC Live edit", I've tried to change the time of the fade, and the time pop-up window seems to be frozen. I've manage to change the values typing them directly in the chaser window.

Concerning the first point of my first post, I'm really glad some people are working on it, means that these are not stupid request ;-)
Now, for the point 5... I try to be as clear as I can.
What I'd like to do is selecting the range area in the XYpad, turning the area in green, and THEN to have the option to copy this restricted area in the axis property of the fixture, in the XY pad property. This way you can have the whole XY pad controlling just your selected area. I just searched on other to do this, and found one : I select the area, and take a look at the monitor, with percent value on. Report these values on the properties.
Maybe some of you could explain to me how the use the XY pad, maybe I use it the wrong way. The problem for me is that you can't see directly the changing when you change the percent value in the XY property.
Have I been clearer?

Massimo, concerning 6 being in progress, you're talking about select function, or align? Anyway, it would be awesome !

Oh, last thing : Is it possible to set a default value? For example if I'd like the Tilt and Pan of my moving heads to be set on 127 by default?
Oh, very very last thing : do I create a new topic for each idea, or one topic per "idea folder"?..

Hi,

This is about the 2 issues:

1) You found a bug :) entering the properties of an XYPad while in virtualconsole liveedit mode, the XYPad doesn't update the pan/tilt values of its targets anymore. I'll work on this.

2) The VC Live Edit does not allow editing function. It allows editing the widgets on the virtual console. The button just left of the "VC Live Edit" button is the "Live Edit" button, and allows editing a function. I tried this, and I can edit the chaser's fade in/out times with no apparent issue.

> Oh, last thing : Is it possible to set a default value? For example if I'd like the Tilt and Pan of my moving heads to be set on 127 by default?

You can create a scene with the default values, and activate it when you want your fixtures to move to this position

EDIT- And thanks for the details, this helps a lot :)
(et ton anglais est nickel ;) )

"You found a bug" : That makes my day !
2) Sorry, I didn't mean VC Live edit, but Live edit. I'll try to make a short video if it helps.

1 is fixed in git, thanks
