Hi everybody,
I'd like to change from my existing software to QLC+, but first I have to check the possibilities.
At the moment I use some moving heads which have a focus channel (let's say it's channel 17). As the moving heads have 2 gobo-wheels, the focus changes from wheel to wheel. When I save a scene usually I only save values for pan and tilt, the gobos are saved apart. But I cannot save the focus value in the gobo scene as the focus will change dependent from the place we use the lights.
So in my actual lighting software I have 2 sliders (one for every moving head), one for each wheel, on which I set the focus value for the gobo wheels that fit for that special place we use the lights. The software, when I recall a gobo, reads the value from the corresponding slider and sets the correct focus.
How can I do that in QLC+?
pre-set changeable values for some channels
You would do this using Collections. First, make 2 scenes with only the focus channel activated and name them "Focus 1" and "Focus 2". I'm assuming you already have scenes created for each gobo with only the gobo channel active. If not, create them. Then for each gobo on wheel 1 make a new collection and add the gobo scene and "Focus 1" to the collection. For each gobo on wheel 2 add the gobo scene and "Focus 2" to the collection. Use the collections on buttons. Now for each venue, in Function editor just adjust the focus with your "Focus 1" and "Focus 2" scenes. At this point, you have 2 options. 1. Save the project with the name of the venue, and and load it each time you are there, or 2. just adjust the focus in both Focus scenes each time you set up there.
Make sense?
P.S. You'll want to put your buttons for these in their own solo frame.

Hi dmxWolf,
unfortunately I don't get any notifications when I get a reply in my post.
Anyway I've tried your solution now and it's perfect, thank you very much!!!
But why should I put the buttons in their own solo frame?
