Hey there,
just a quick question because I can not find a way to do this:
I have some EFXs for my scanners setup in relative mode. additionally I set up 3 'location-scenes'.
when i want to have the scanners moving I start the location scene and then the effect e.g. a circle.
I set the location scene to fade in 3s and also did this to the efx. The scene fades nicely from the previous values but when starting a efx it just fades the intensity level and not the Pan/Tilt values. The scanners jump around very fast and thats not what I want.
Is there a Way to fade in and out of these EFXs?
Best regards,
Daniel
Fading in and out of Pan/Tilt values of EFXs?
Currently there is no way to fade in/out EFX. I was thinking about this already, but didn't get to design/fix it.
Easy way would be to apply fade in/out to pan/tilt as it is now applied to intensity.
More complete way would be to redesign EFX - at least add duration and fade to individual fixtures. I'm not sure how this would translate to speed dial widget.
Also, assymetric and parallel modes could be replaced with proper start offsets and durations.
These are my ideas that needs some details to be designed, and then everything needs to be implemented. So far I'm not decided which of the ideas I should implement first.

I see where you are coming from with the more complete way but I think this idea is not needed as much.
Atleast I only use the startoffset with the parallel mode and this is all I need in terms of starting a EFX.
My suggestion would be another relatively easy way:
Just implement 4 checkboxes into the duration setting window. 2 for the fading in speed dial and 2 for the fading out wheel. Here you can specify wether the fading in is used for fading in the pan/tilt or the intensity. Same goes for fading out.
The Speed dial widget would just set the dials here and the dials would apply to the parameters that are checked.
What do you think about that? I am not a programmer so I don't know how easy this really is..

I really don't want to annoy you but this is starting to become a big problem for me.
Is there a quick and dirty solution that you could implement? Maybe even my request with the checkboxes?
If I had the time I would just write me EFXs as Sequences to get nice fades. But I have so many EFXs that I simply can not reprogram these for every venue that I have to adjust the pan/tilt positions in. The relative option of the efxs together with a scene really is the only option for me here but getting these sudden pan/tilt changes looks very weird for slow movements...
