Hi guys,
I use a MIDI controller for QCL+. With my old dmx software I could use MIDI combinations to start scenes or change values, will this be possible with QCL+?
An example: I have 4 moving heads with 10 different colors. So I created 40 scenes, one for each moving head and each color of it. For not having to program 40 MIDI buttons to use these scenes I used MIDI combinations. For this I had 4 MIDI buttons for the 4 moving heads and 10 buttons for the 10 colors. When I wanted to change the color to color n. 5 on moving head 3 I just had to push the button for moving head 3 and color n. 5.
Same this for the 14 gobos of these moving heads. MIDI combinations will be very very very useful and comfortable.
Hope this is clear.
Thank you very much
Andreas
MIDI combinations?
Hi, the program name is QLC+...
We don't have MIDI combinations. What you want to use is probably multi page frames.
Check the documentation to understand how to use them.

Can you tell how these combinations work (how do you setup them)? Or what was your old dmx software?
For now, you can use multipage frames to get similar effect.
Create your 40 scenes, place 10 buttons in each page (4 total) and assign them
to related scene. Now assign 10 MIDI buttons to all buttons of a color (1 MIDI button assigned to 4 buttons) and 2 buttons to shift pages (direct page select is not implemented yet IIRC).

Jano, the software he's using is LumiDMX.
I'm not sure if we want this MIDI combination feature. Thinking of the code, it would be a mess to implement it.
Lately I've implemented a frame enable/disable feature. When a frame is disabled, It doesn't even accept input signals, so you can map the same input lines for widgets in different frames.
I haven't implemented though an external controller assignment for this feature. If I do, then Andreas can have his MIDI combinations by nesting frames and enabling/disabling them as needed.
I'll implement it.

Hi Jano,
well, with your solution I will not be able to change more than 1 color at once, right?
Massimo ist right, I'm using LumiDMX, but I'm hardly looking for another solution and I hope QLC+ (sorry for the mistake in the other post) will be the thing.
Maybe there will be a possibilty for this in next future.
