Hi,
I encounter a problem with my brand new laptop when I connect my DMX interface and I run QLC +. When I open Input / Ouput, "System Time Accuracy" is "BAD", while all my other PC, they are "Good". So, sometimes my lights are flashing.
I tested several versions of FTDI drivers by uninstalling, reinstalling itself.
Is this a problem of the driver of USB ports? obviously, they are generic Windows 8.1 drivers that are installed not specific drivers.
I tried modifying in the registry frequency of DMX frame with several different values. The problem persists.
What can I do to display "Good"?
QLC + 4.7.4
Enttec Open DMX
ASUS N550JK-CM137H
windows 8.1
intel core i7-4700HQ 2.4 GHz
6GB RAM DDR3L (1.35V) PC3-12800 - DDR3 1600MHz
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 850M - 2GB
Touschscreen LED Multitouch
SSD Samsung 840 EVO 256 GO
3 port USB3.0
...
Thank you so much
"System Time Accuracy" is "BAD" Enttec Open DMX Windows 8.1 Laptop Asus N550JK
BAD is displayed when QLC+ wants to sleep for 1000 microseconds and it takes actually more than 3 milliseconds.

This seems to be fundamental problem of Windows. You may have some luck setting performance in Computer properties to "Optimize for background tasks" and/or disable CPU frequency changes.
Other possibilities are:
1. try QLC+ version compiled with QT5 from the development forum -- that may help as well (or not).
2. use Linux (you don't have to reinstall your computer, just boot from CD and save settings to an USB key or file on the windows disk).
3. use DMX card that doesn't depend on host computer speed/latency (Enttec USB DMX pro, Enttec Open Ethernet, etc.)
Obviously, I may be wrong and there is a simpler solution.

Hello and thank you for your response elements that allow me to better target the problem.
Unfortunately, under Windows 8.1, the problem remains and it is worse after performing all the latest updates to Windows.
I also tested in the shop where I bought my laptop on 5 others laptops (different brand, different processor) and 2 Windows tablets, the problem is the same, the fault clearly the energy management and optimization of intel processor by Windows if I understand.
Namely, the problem disappears on desktop pc.
I found that if I want to keep this environment, I need to buy a case with an external clock.
I tested Linux boot from USB key, I did not succeed to install qlcplus .... Anyway I need Windows for others softwares like traktor or others.
It's still crazy in 2014, we still have problems of material management on Windows ...
I think buying the Enttec USB DMX Pro to resolve this problem.
Finally I hope that there will be no worries.
Thx
