We just finished a run of a show and the sound guy used QLC+ as an audio player due to the ease with which it can cue lots f tracks and play or buttons and cue lists. Very successful, I must add, thank you for the great functionality.
The following suggestions have come out of this experience:
1. The ability to use multiple playback devices simultaneously. Sometime we run a soundscape and then have to overlay sound effects on top of that based on what is happening on stage. While we could cue a cd player it does not doe it as well. If one could add a sound device to a different universe and then pick the device when you add the track, it would be fantastic.
2. A player widget that allows one to pause, stop and cue a track (using a progress bar). This is for rehearsal mode mainly. The director wants to pick the second chorus repeatedly to rehearse something. This is not possible with the button only model.
Theatre show report back: Audio
Hello Chris, I'm always glad to read QLC+ successfull stories
Thanks for sharing.
Finally, I've just implemented request number 1. It is now possible to select a specific audio device for an Audio function. It is then saved into the project file.
Number 2 could fit into an old request that I've read here a few times: progress bar on cue list widget. It is time to implement it then !

Oh, and if you have pictures or videos of the show, it would be great if you can share them here !
Thanks
Thanks

There was a video made and I'll see if I can get a short snippet that shows some of the stuff we did.
Equipment:
3 PAR64 of unknown origin
6 Chauvet slimpar 64
12 Par 18*35w RGBAW - imported from China
2 Chauvet QSpot 560
1 Chauvet 4 channel dimmer pack
Home made uplights
Home made UV lights
Unknown smoke machine linked to home made fog chiller.
38.5mm x 3mm aluminium pipes with lots of webbing to hang it from.
QLC+ 4.7.3
UltraDMX USB from dmxking
Old AMD pc with Lubuntu
Home made console running as joystick using two LeoBodnar devices
We moved in on Tuesday into an empty space, rig the stage, sound & light, do 6 performances in 10 days and take it all down again to return the hall to the council.

Massimo,
I've just downloaded the latest version after reading this thread. Does that mean I can send multiple audio streams to the same device, or just a single stream to each device? As mentioned above, overlaying soundscapes really means having several streams to the same device. I'm doing lighting and sound for a show in October, and the theatre has three amps and the associated sound outputs on their PC - auditorium front, auditorium rear and specials.
I am also still looking for control for the audio streams - pan settings, level settings, and being able to change pan or level on a timed fade and with a timed wait option. On my old package I recently had a sound track of artillery running in the background for most of an act, synchronised with a lighting chase to give the glow of the shells landing, and just faded the levels and LX up and down for more effect and to mute the effect when the scene was elsewhere, without losing synchronisation.
Once this level of functionality is in place I can retire my old laptop and its applications.

Dave, I have not used this production yet but I have tested it. They way I got it to work is that you can assign an audio track to a a audio device. You can have multiple devices but one audio device can just handle one audio stream at one time.
However, each of these devices can be fed to a mixer which in turn can then feed to whatever sound system you have. That would be the way we would use it. There is a sound guy for each show and he will use his laptop with several of these cheap USB soundcards plugged in. These in turn are fed to the sound desk, each on on its own 2 channels (for stereo). So we can have a soundscape playing and then effects playing on top.
