Hi, i attach here a test program we are doing...
Simply on universe 1 we have dimmers, where on the stage, we connect different kinds of halogen lamps so to have distribution of white on the same stage, or we connect different halogen projector to have light on people who is watching concert (halogen flasher).

this is first time we use qlc plus to control dimmers (before that year we was using a dmx contoller device direclty connect to dimmers...), so we tried to create a channel group (so maybe easy patch different lights connected to dimmer when we are working in different stages)....

... in function tab we have made a scene that recall the channel group...

and in Virtual console we have created a button and a Slider that are recalling that scene.

the problem we found is here: when we move slider, lights don't power.... same thing if we use a button. and if we release slider, it returns at 0 .

In the manual is not specified if there is a different way to use channel group, so we are asking what is wrong.

thanks in advance.

we are using 4.7.2 Git Version

hello

I took a look at you console. It appears to me that your scenes are all at zero. You need to set your values for your scene and save them. When your scenes are set the button or slider will go to that maximum value (o to max. on sliders). If its zero than that's your scene max. You are using the correct mode.

Now as too them returning to zero. That is the function of a button and thus playback mode. Its designed to act as a toggle function for chases and scenes and then return to minimum values (on/off).Because you have your max. values at zero the slider can only go from zero to zero. If you set them to say, 145, the slider will play back from zero to 145(max.) as specified in your scene.

I suggest you try using the simple desk and create cue stacks for your scenes. You can create your scenes and recall them and even add fade time if desired. The simple desk is more suited to theatrical or scene based work. You can create hole sequences of scene and adjust them on the fly is necessary with the cue sliders, and recall them with a click.

I hope this is helpful. Anymore questions feel free to ask. =)

Now i have noticed another think....
if i have another stage and i must remap channels that are used for do Light on the stage....
and i go to add/remove channels in channel group, they aren't added automatically to the scene.

for have they added (/removed) i need to go in function tab, i must re-open scene that recall the channel group, remove and re-add channel group, so it keep changes.

Maybe useful if a variation in channel group automatically distribute changes to all scene/chaser/sequence that are using that?

else why i need a channel group that not accept variations?
thanks
