Hi, I have a serious issue with QLC+ both on Mac and Win: it doesn’t start anymore!
I would really appreciate any kind of help since I’m running a show on 4th May.

WINDOWS 7:
I have been using QLC+ 4.6.1 for about a month on win7 inside a virtual machine on Mac OSX 10.9.2 and all went well.
One evening I made some changes to my project as usual and saved them, but the day after QLC+ refused to open!

When I double click QLC+ shortcut on my desktop the pointer shows the usual loading wheel for a few seconds and then nothing appears. If I open task Manager while launching QLC+ the process ‘qlcplus.exe’ appears in ‘Processes' tab for a few seconds (longer than the loading wheel) and then it disappears.

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling QLC+ (both 4.6.1 and 4.7.0) but the problem remains. I also cleaned manually my regedit and reinstalled but no luck.

Here are some informations I have been able to find:
1) QLC+ is not shown under ‘Uninstall a program’ in Control Panel
2) I found this directory C:\Users\Admin\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\WER\ReportQueue where a subdirectory is created every time I start QLC+ and it crashes. I attach an archive with all those subdirectories. Look at the ‘Report.wer’ inside them (it can be opened with Notepad) but I did not find anything meaningful to me.

OSX 10.9.2:
Since QLC+ on Windows did not work anymore I decided to downgrade QLC+ 4.7.0 on my Mac to 4.6.1 because of compatibility reasons with my 3d visualiser. So I moved QLC+ (4.7.0) from my application folder to trash and copied QLC+ 4.6.1 to the application folder. Now when I launch QLC+ it asks me if I want to open the fixture editor (which opens normally) or ‘Q Light Controller Plus’. If I choose this one the blue loading bar appears for a while with text ’Starting Q Light Controller Plus’ above and then an alert with title 'Q Light Controller Plus quit unexpectedly’ appears. I attach the full report.

Thanks in advance

I made a fresh installation in a new virtual machine and the first times QLC+ opened normally, but now it still crashes and I get this message:

Hi, this crash "log" doesn't help.
From what I read it seems you're having an issue with one plugin/device

I found the guilty party, it's a fixture I made with fixture editor! I attach the fixture profile here for debug purpose, DO NOT USE IT. By trial and error I found out that the problem is inside the last mode, the one which starts with:

Mode Name="Mode 7 (54 channels)"

maybe too many channels/heads?

Ohhh, right. That happened to me too the day I was releasing a new QLC+ version. After hours I found out that a Martin fixture was crashing QLC+, but only on Windows.
Linux and OSX were working fine.
I'll check your fixture

Ok, thanks. Anyway I don't need that mode. This solved the issue also on OSX.

The problem is:

- you have many channels with the same name (e.g. Red, Green, Blue). The right way is to number them (the first triplet without number, then "Red 2", "Red 3", etc.)

- for mode 7 you have defined only channels 0-2 but using channels 0-53 (0 based).

Check QLC+ 4.7.0, the fixture was added in the meantime. Alternatively, download it from https://raw.githubusercontent.com/mcall ... ri-Bar.qxf and compare with yours.

Thank you very much.
