Hello All, I'm new here and trying to find my way around the E1.31 protocol.
I have the Enttec OpenDMX usb dongle but am looking to change over to E1.31.
From what I have read I need a way to convert e1.31 over to an XLR DMX cable to plug into some RGB LED par cans. I have seen a few products from DMXking that I think will do this, but they don't seem to be very cost effective for multiple universes (each having a single node). I am using this in a theatre lighting setup where I would like to have each row (3-6) of lights be on a separate universe, running cat5 to a node/device/converter/bridge? at the beginning of each row.
Anyone have any advice on cost effective ways to do this? I am limited in my soldering skills, but might be able to put together a diy kit if it's simple enough. A ready made product would be better.
