I just got an enttec pro Mk2. I am trying to use it with qlc+ 4.6 and i have noticed that dmx in on external input doesn't work profile doesn't detect any channel movements and if i add a slider to the virtual console and then just try to manually assign it from the dmx in it still does not detect. under profile type i have also noticed the DMX is not in the drop down list.

Might be buggy.
Does it work if you use only the input and not output at the same time ?

Unfortuntely those genious from Enttec sell 5-Pin only adapters, so I have been forced to buy 5-to-3 adapter but I only have one.

Louis, I ask you kindly...can you please review the way you post on this forum, like using dots between sentences and a grammar that everybody can understand ? Thanks.
Also please, if a post talks about Enttec MK2 only, write it on the title, otherwise every user will think QLC+ doesn't work with any input device at all.

OK. disabling Output 1 and enabling the input it doesn't work either. Attached are photos that show my setup. I have attached photos from both qlc and enttec's utility.

Under External input on the VC on a slider or knob if I use detection based selection it doesn't see any input response from my dmx controller. The Enttec utility does see the input so the controller and Mk2 are communicating it is just QLC that doesn't see the input .

Does this make more sense?
Massimo Callegari

I need to test it myself, but I don't have the 5-to-3 pin adapter.
So disabling all the outputs and enabling only the input doesn't show the joystick moving ?
In your screenshot I see input and output 2 enabled.
In any case this is gonna take some time :(

Thanks ! Just let me check if I can find them in a local store here.
Tomorrow I should know if they have them.
Then I'll let you know.
lcslouis

Ok if they do let me know the price; and I will paypal the money for it.

Also according to enttec the MkII is capable of both universe 1 and 2 having input

Unfortunately the music shop is closed in these days cause of xmas holidays.
I will try again after the 26th but please be patient.

A little update on this. I finally got the adapters and I did some tests.
If you enable only the input line it works correctly.
If you enable only the output lines it works as well.
If you enable input and output at the same time there are huge problems.

I'm working on it to understand what's happening.
Can you confirm the Mk2 can handle input and output at the same time ?
lcslouis

Yes. What I did was disable all output and inputs then I enabled input 1 only and went into the profile editor. Confirmed it was working and then enabled output 2 and input 1 stayed working.
If I enable output 1 then input 1 doesn't work. I think that is normal behavior for the device it has 2 dmx universes which can be used for input or output both not both I believe.

But, you should not have to go through the steps I just said to get it working; so something is wrong.
Massimo Callegari

I spent a few hours on this, just to realize it was already working.
The only thing that doesn't work is changing input and output "on the fly". I will try to fix it.

As a workaround do the mapping and reopen QLC+.

As written in the product manual, this device doesn't handle input and output at the same time on the same line (e.g. DMX1)
So the best you can get out of it is 1 input, 1 output, 2 outputs or 1 input and 1 output of different lines at the same time.

What I can do to avoid this confusion is disable a line if the counterpart input/output has been selected. I will also add input on DMX2. Enttec confirmed you just need a gender changer to use it.
If it's not much of a trouble I will add MIDI IO as well.
lcslouis

Would 2 of the enttec pro mk2 boxes work side by side?
Massimo Callegari

I would say so. They're handled like different devices
