Hi Massimo,
I built a show recently consisting of 3 scenes with lots of overlapping audio files of jungle sounds, rain, exotic birds etc. in qlc+ 4.4.1 so that 2 or 3 sound files were being replayed simultaneously and repeatedly for about half an hour. It worked perfectly.
Then I saw in the documentation that apparently this isn't possible! I tried to run the show with 4.5.1 - instant crash.
I started a new project, added one scene to a new show plus one audio item (used several different items)and there is still a crash as soon as the time line reaches the start of the audio item.
I also tried to replay an audio file with a VC button. This results in a crash as well.
I have qlc+ running on Ubuntu 12.04.
Program crash when running audio items in a show
Hi Michael, did you select a particular audio output device in the audio input/output panel ?
That's very broken on 4.5.x, you need to leave it all unchecked for now.

There's nothing at all to select under the audio tab of the inputs/outputs panel on my computer. Qlc+ was using Rhythmbox to replay audio under 4.4.1.
Uh ?
QLC+ uses ALSA in Linux. No external applications. If you have 'aplay' you can check from a command line by typing: 'aplay -l'
QLC+ should show something similar to that

Well, I assumed it was Rhythmbox as it says Rhythmbox under the volume control. However, on closer examination .....!
'aplay -l' returned:

'qlcplus -o' returns messages about ALSA lib conf.c (cannot open) and ALSA lib seq.c (unknown seq fault) - can type out the whole thing if it helps.
